Contessa Kellogg Mankiewicz has spent her career working in government and media relations. Prior to joining the California Women’s Law Center, she held senior communications positions both on Capitol Hill and with the city of Los Angeles. Most recently, Contessa served as press secretary for Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo. Prior to that, she worked as communications director for two members of congress: Maxine Waters (D- CA) and Max Sandlin, (D- TX), both members of the Democratic leadership. In both offices, Contessa also served as floor assistant, working closely with both the Democratic leader and the whip in the House of Representatives. 

Contessa began her career in politics in the office of Senator Bob Kerrey (D-NE) and she's also worked on a number of political campaigns. She's a native of Omaha, NE and received her undergraduate degree from Creighton University in 1998. Contessa also studied abroad at the American College Dublin in Ireland.
