Amicus Briefs

In some cases, a person or entity with strong interest in or views on the subject matter of a case (but not a party to the case) may petition the court for permission to file an amicus curiae brief. These briefs often suggest that the court decide the case in a certain way, and are commonly filed in appeals concerning matters of a broad public interest. CWLC frequently drafts and joins amicus briefs in cases where the rights of women and girls are at stake.
