Domestic violence remains a serious problem in California. Restraining orders are an effective tool to combat domestic violence, but the legal process to obtain one can be complicated and confusing. This webinar will dive into some of the complex legal issues facing litigants seeking domestic violence restraining orders in California courts. After a brief introduction to DVROs, the webinar will address some of the particularly thorny issues facing survivors and their counsel, including in conducting discovery, introducing evidence, dealing with implicit bias, and preserving appeals.
