Senate Bill 400: Protecting the Employment Rights of Survivors of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Stalking- SIGNED BY THE GOVERNOR ON OCTOBER 11th

The California Women’s Law Center supports California State Senate Bill 400 authored by Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson.

Senate Bill 400 which will prohibit employers from discriminating or retaliating against employees who are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking.

Current law does not expressly prohibit employment discrimination based on an employee’s status as a survivor of domestic violence nor does it provide for an employee to request workplace accommodations to ensure individuals feel safe at work.  Please help support the survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking.
