Thea Alli is an Associate at Akerman LLP, where she represents employers in employment litigation, including wage and hour class actions and single-plaintiff lawsuits involving claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination. Prior to joining Akerman, Thea clerked for Judge Harris L Hartz of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. She earned her law degree from UC Irvine and completed her undergraduate studies at the United States Air Force Academy. Before beginning her legal career, Thea served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force for 12 years, with assignments in Afghanistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Kingdom.

Stacey Armato is a director at INCEPTIV and a dedicated community advocate and volunteer. In addition to being a Board member for CWLC, Stacey is the Board Treasurer for BreastfeedLA, Co-Chair of California Winemasters benefitting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a member of the Parent Advisory Council for Mattel Children’s Hospital at UCLA, and formerly served as mayor and councilmember for the City of Hermosa Beach. Sarah Conway is a partner at Jones Day in the business and torts litigation practice. Bethany was among the Munger Tolles lawyers who assisted the Disability Rights Legal Center (DRLC) in their class action Lauderdale v. Erin LaMere is a Deputy Public Defender for the Orange County Public Defender’s office. Diana Hughes Leiden is a partner at Winston & Strawn, focusing on trademark, copyright, and antitrust litigation. Diana began her career with a year-long fellowship working as a staff attorney at the AIDS Legal Referral Panel in San Francisco, and continues to be dedicated to pro bono work. She has represented several asylum applicants in both San Francisco and Los Angeles Immigration Court, as well as parents seeking to adopt children from the foster care system. F. Edie Mermelstein is the founding attorney of FEM Law Group with offices in Orange and Los Angeles Counties. Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Amy served as senior staff attorney for the California Women’s Law Center, leading the organization’s legal efforts through impact litigation, policy advocacy, education, and training. Before her work with the California Women’s Law Center, she was an associate in the Los Angeles office of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP where she gained skills and strengths in virtually all areas of trial preparation and litigation. Prior to that, she served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Justice Warren E. Jones of the Idaho Supreme Court. Amy received her undergraduate degree from UCLA and received her law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law.

Lois D. Thompson practiced law as a litigator in New York and Los Angeles for almost 50 years. She is on the boards of the Western Center on Law and Poverty and the Western Justice Center. She graduated from Smith College, on whose board she also served, and earned her law degree from the Columbia University School of Law.
