During each legislative session, CWLC monitors bills on a range of issues. Leveraging our efforts with other stakeholders and coalitions, we co-sponsor legislation, testify before policymakers, issue policy briefs, and submit letters in support and opposition to legislation. We also participate in federal government rule making efforts by providing official public comment to government agencies in response to proposed regulations that will impact the rights of women and girls.
CWLC’s policy initiatives have included enforcing Title IX, protecting the civil rights of pregnant and parenting students, passing stronger equal pay laws, and securing justice for survivors of intimate partner violence. We focus on supporting the most vulnerable populations in California.
