Training: Facing Housing Barriers: Gender, Evictions, and COVID-19 (2020)

There has been a growing housing crisis in California for some time and the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly exacerbated the barriers many families face when seeking safe, affordable housing. Women are especially vulnerable economically and many are experiencing financial hardship due to the pandemic, putting them at increased risk of homelessness. This webinar will focus on the intersection of gender discrimination and housing and discuss how housing, gender, race, income, violence, and health are interconnected. Specifically, the presenters will provide an overview of the current legal landscape in light of COVID-19 as well as the impacts of sex discrimination and domestic violence on housing access. They will also address housing protections available to survivors of domestic violence.

This webinar is open to everyone, and one hour of MCLE Elimination of Bias credit is available.
