The Reproductive Justice Coalition of Los Angeles is hosting: Hobby Lobby & Contraception: What Skeletons Does Hobby Lobby Have in Its Closet?

Did you know that Hobby Lobby, a corporation, opposes certain forms of contraception on religious grounds? So much that they took their protest of the ACA’s contraceptive mandate to the Supreme Court? And won?!

We think Hobby Lobby is wrong. Birth control is not our boss’ business.

Join us for a Halloween-themed protest at the store that is women’s worst nightmare!

WHERE: Hobby Lobby’s Burbank Store: 641 N Victory Blvd, Burbank, CA 91502
RSVP: rjclajustice@gmail.com

Meet us on the sidewalk. Please park on
the street. Bring signs and feel free to wear black shirts or skeleton costumes.

More background:
On June 30, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 in the Burwell v. Hobby Lobby case, allowing Hobby Lobby the right to deny female employees access to four types of contraception they objected to — Plan B, Ella, and two forms of an intrauterine device (IUD) — on religious grounds, based on the *scientifically inaccurate belief* that these forms of contraceptives are “abortifacients.” This ruling may effectively allow the owners of closely-held for-profit companies with religious objections to opt out of all forms of contraception coverage originally mandated under Obamacare.
